Emily + Winston · Spring Creeks Ranch, Carbondale, Colorado Wedding

This was truly a day of the most beautiful softness. Soft light, soft souls, soft love. The definition of dreamy.

Emily and Winston celebrated their love under a cover of moody clouds on a summer afternoon at Spring Creeks Ranch in Carbondale, Colorado. This is a venue that I work at frequently and feels like a second home to me sometimes. Spring creek runs through fields of green grass, and depending on the time of year, wildflowers. Mount Sopris towers over our special valley and watches over every wedding and ceremony. Red Hill creates a backdrop from the other side, and the hum of the Roaring Fork River flows by a little forest of pines. Needless to say, it’s a beautiful venue full of magical little spots.

Among all of this magic, the most magical of all was the love that Emily and Winston share. It’s a powerful but quiet love. You see it not in the way they scream their love from rooftops, but from the way their eyes light up when they behold one another. The way they hold each other as if they don’t ever want to let go. The way their breath syncs up when they settle in beside each other.

I’ve included photos of a moment when Winston was watching Emily spin in her dress, and he was brought to tears. I can’t even experience this moment through photos without tears in my eyes every time.

This is the kind of love that stays with you long after you meet them. It’s infectious and ethereal.

I’m not sure photos can even properly capture it, but I tried my best. Enjoy this magic.
